Wall Stickers, Appliques, & Decals

I used to think that wall stickers only came in styles for kids. But guess what, I was wrong!

There are styles great for decorating any room in your home. As a matter of fact, I wish that some of the styles were available back when I had my first place – it would have solved that “no nail hole” clause in my lease.

Another bonus - they are inexpensive and easy to apply and remove.

As for kid’s styles, wall stickers will continue to be popular. They come in many different styles, from favorite cartoon characters to realistic-looking jungle animals and more.

Blik Surface Graphics

Blik Surface Graphics. Really, I think the name says it all! If you guessed fun, funky wall decals for grown-ups, you are right, although there are many styles that are even suitable for the baby nursery. Blik Surface Graphics are oversized, geometric decals. Wild Animal Wall Stickers

The artistic quality of these life-sized wild animal wall stickers is truly impressive. I first looked at this site with the bedrooms of my two little guys in mind, but soon thought of other rooms in my home that I could incorporate them.

If it’s an animal, Wild Animal Stickers probably has it:

• Jungle Wildlife – giraffe, lion, zebra, elephant, and more

• Birds – blue jay, cardinal, and robin (to name just a few!)

The stickers are printed on self-adhesive, peel and stick waterproof vinyl. Unlike some other wall appliqués, the stickers are not reusable after they are removed.

How to Apply

When applying wall stickers, just follow the manufacturer’s directions. You will want to make sure the surface is clean and free of dirt – the instructions may even recommend that you clean the wall surface with a particular product prior to application. Other than that, it should only take a couple of minutes.

The trickiest part is that the wall appliques are sticky, and you will not want it to fold in on itself after you take off the backing. You may even want to enlist the assistance of a helper just to avoid any problems.

How to Remove

The beauty of wall stickers is that they are usually very easy to remove, and the wall surface is left unaffected. Some can even be reused, which is great if you move or even want to rearrange rooms.

Where to Purchase

If you are looking for cartoon character wall appliques, you should have no problem finding them at a nearby Wal-Mart or similar retailer. The other types of wall stickers are a little more difficult to track down, although I have found Blik Surface Graphics at Target.

Alternatively, you can do what I like to do – search online!
